Taller de Gospel was born in Barcelona in 1997 as a result of the joint of a group of fools for Gospel, New Orleans music and all the afro-american musical tradition in general. The intention of Taller de Gospel, from the beginning was to make Gospel known and to try to popularize it, but lately this intentions has been extended to other disciplines related to this rich culture result of the meeting of the african and european cultures in a strange territory for both of them, America.

At the same time, Taller de Gospel would like to become a point of contact for all the Gospel and afro-american music lovers in order to carry out activities that will help to promote and spread Gospel music while we enjoy it.

The action range of Taller de Gospel was at the beginning, more because a matter of geographical proximity, Catalunya but little by little we are expanding till we reach the whole peninsular territory.

Our activities are focused on two different targets: the educational subject and the divulging subject. The educative subject is based on Emmanuel Djob’s workshops and from time to time we carry out other activities like Didier Likeng's workshops. Talking about the divulging activities, we try to promote and spread the different Gospel and afro-american concerts and activities that we can find in our territory. Some of which come from choirs and vocal groups founded because of any of our workshops.

We think that is very important to remark that any training or knowledge about the matter is needed to attend any of our workshops. What for sure is absolutely necessary is the predisposition to learn, have a good time and to let yourself go in order to express and take out that special thing that each and everyone of us have inside.
