Didier Likeng

Didier Likeng was born in Cameroon. He is a self-taught musician with a solid experience on mass choirs and vocal groups. At the age of 10 years, his parents enrolled in the choir of the local church, a Presbyterian churh in Cameroon. Quickly he realized that he was talented. A few years later, he created and conducted several musical groups and choirs in Cameroon. We can say that Didier is a gifted man for music, and he masters many aspects of music. He plays several intruments, and he is also an author, composer and arranger...

In 1989 he decided to move from his native Cameroon to Belgium to study agronomy in the university, which he finished with succes in 1995. Meanwhile, he had been working along with a french Gospel group, The Black and White Gospel Singers. In this group he played bass guitar and sing baryton and tenor voice during twelve years. In his large musical career he also has developed as an artistic director and he has produced about twenty ‘Cds’ of differents types of music in Belgium.

In 1992, he created, ‘The Marvellous Gospel Singers’ the best Gospel group from Belgium and one of the best in Europe. Nowadays, he sings in several groups and choirs such as “Gospel pour 100 voix” in Paris where he’s a soloist, “Mighty Gospel Singers”… with about 1600 concerts done… He has also developed a prestige as a teacher, because of his work teaching Gospel workshops in Belgium, France, Holland, Luxembourg, Spain…

Finally, as a culmination of his biography we can say that he has met, sang and shared stage with some of the all times biggest names and groups in Gospel music like The Golden Gate Quartet, The Dixies Hummingbirds, Liz Mc Comb, The Five Blind Boys of Alabama, The Harlem Gospel Singers, Marcel Boungou, Emmanuel Djob…
